Returning from the summer holiday, during today's introductions session,. This session as I assumed was simply an introduction to the rules and regulations of th module and workshop session where the class and I play around in Maya and reacquainted ourselves with the tools and interface.
Thankfully I had remembered and learned the majority of the core modelling and editing tools in Mayas interface in order to continue my progression and experiments with 3d modelling. In adoption, I can now compare Maya to what I learned in 3d Studio Max from my time in college and over the summer holiday.

Furthermore, the moment the real production began the moment I got the green light to produce a series of sketches and contemplate on the series rough sketches and produce my first design of character by the third academic week. The reason why it is essential to create the character illustration is in order for it to be used as a reference image for when the class and I begin modelling in Maya.
Also, another note worth mentioning is, I also learned an additional bit of trivia from the lecture Jaime called 80 /20 or 90/10 principle from an Italian man named Vilfredo Pareto and the lecturer further stated that 10% of the tools will give me 90% of what I need which is true since I will mainly need the core tools in order to create my character and this rule has been true for most of the programs and tasks I have undertaken.
Moreover, towards the end of the summer holiday, I created a character out of impulse and began sketching this morning different features from the character in order to keep my self engaged on the train. Furthermore, I prefer this new character that I find it worthy of developing into a 3d model beside the other characters I have created. I believe what makes me enthusiastic about this particular creation is the fact that is fresh and has yet to evolve and become its own being which is what is expected from this module.
However, when I created the small sketch it had robes and a sash attached to him so my concern was modelling the robes in Maya and once I informed the lecturer Jame of this he too was concerned over creating cloth. Though, I will browse the internet, books and experiment on my own in 3ds max and Maya and discover whether a simple and convincing robe can be crafted, if not then initial sketches will have to continue to be developed in order to achieve the same aesthetic appearance I want.
